[Year] as a Playlist Rule and / or Library Option

Would it be possible to include album release [Year] as one of the Library options or include as an option when creating smart playlist to allow a playlist of albums released in [Year] to be created.

I like to have an easy way to view and select from albums released in the current year ... helps with creating albums of the year list etc.

In Plex desktop, I can create a smart playlist based on release year that Plexamp can see.

Symfonium allows browsing by release year without a smart playlist.

I can't see how to replicate this in Lagu as [Year] isn't a library option and currently not a selectable option when creating a smart playlist.

I just realised that the Plex desktop 'playlist' solution for this is actually a 'smart collection' not a playlist ... this allows the browsing of all albums in the appropriate [Year] and can be added to the Plexamp homescreen.

If Lagu was to replicate, it would either have to be able to show the Plex collections or, as per original request, allow [Year] to be one of the available LIBRARY view options.

I'd second this request. It would be super helpful and I use the smart collection quite a bit on Plexamp

Hello!
Album year is now included in 0.13.3 as a field in smart playlists, as well as sorting in library. Lagu does have decade radios as well. If there are any other settings or filters that could be useful let me know!

Thanks for the progress on this ... what's still missing for me is the ability to quickly isolate albums from a particular year (I may have missed it).

One option would be to add a filter selection drop down to the Albums view similar to the attached markup.

MarkM Thanks for the example! I've gone ahead and added this in for the upcoming 0.14.0 release, which I am hoping to have finished up this week!

Edit (9/7/26): Filtering by year is now available on mobile and desktop in 0.14.0
